Is it loud out there?

There is so much more noise than ever before

There are still opportunities to promote or be heard through all the noise. The worst time to start is tomorrow. Get a plan together and start!

You don’t need the best plan or be perfect at your delivery, but you do need to start. If you’re like me, when I get inspired to write, I write as much as I can. Writing has never come naturally for me and this year I have realized my physical voice has power and I’ve even recorded voiceovers for videos.

Something I never would have done without the power of podcasting.

Find the medium that you enjoy and love and start there. Remember to set measurable goals and timelines. This is highly important to me, without a deadline I will continue to move the task to the next day’s schedule. Nothing important can get done this way. Having a schedule and having automatic posts will be your best friend to break through the noise and give you more time.

Be Relevant – Don’t get put in the “read it later file”!

Show your personality, humor, but most importantly be real and relatable!

It’s best if you know who your ideal client/target marketing is. Now you can speak to them clearly, precisely and with specific messages. Keep it short, not too wordy, in sales and marketing messages less is more. A lot of marketing tries to be clever and with all the noise today, if it’s too hard to understand or looks like too much information, your brain will usually respond with a nope, that’s too much for right now, I’ll read it later. Likely, it’ll be in the never read it file. How many emails did you intend to read and never did?

Be easier to read

Use bullet points, small paragraphs, and headers to allow people to identify what your content is about. This helps them decide if it’s relevant information and they want to invest their time to read it. We never get time back so don’t waste it. It only takes a few times of not finding the content important for them and they will stop interacting with you. 

Says to standout in the crowd with all the noise

Try using amazing photos or videos to communicate your messages.  Photos can say a million words in a simple way.

It’s ok if each article isn’t important to everyone. 

Avoid writing clickbait-y headlines, yes you might get clicks, but that’s it. Be relevant, compelling and more importantly, useful.

I get if I get a really long email, I may read the first paragraph, maybe even the second one but it’s set up in big blocks of content and I have to keep scrolling down and down to read. I will not be ready for it.
