These are just a handful of the words that describe Amy, who is the “people person” side of Nufire.
It’s no surprise. You don’t grow up on a Wisconsin dairy farm, milking the cows, doing the chores and getting ready for school, all before sunrise, without taking on those types of characteristics. Not to mention being able to tell someone they could be doing something better or in a different way (but in a really nice way, of course).
They’re attributes that have served her well over the years as an entrepreneur, graphic designer, project manager, business coach and owner of a growing business.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Amy got her start working for a printer in Eau Claire, Wis., where she designed print materials and developed printing plates for the press. She was in the Communications Department of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota as a design lead, where she worked on you name it, from banners to more than 1,000 page government proposals.
Amy’s most proud of two things: making the leap to launch a business and having the knowledge, experience and demeanor necessary for helping our clients grow their businesses every day.
As our marketing consultant, Amy works directly with our clients and guides them through planning for the future of their businesses and creating the marketing that will get them there.
She also trusts her crazy ideas, with a little help from her best friend and husband, Avery. Whether the ideas are for Nufire or our clients, they always manage to convert them to positive results. Away from the grind, the couple enjoys traveling, trying new things, attending plays and art exhibitions and, of course, running a business together.
Amy earned an associate’s degree from the Art Institute of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1999. She graduated from Bemidji (Minn.) State University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in design technology and emphases in graphic design and multimedia. She and Avery were married in 2000.
Since then she’s earned master’s-level certificates from Digital Marketer in all aspects of online marketing: content marketing, paid traffic, social media, conversion funnels, search marketing, email marketing, analytics and data, and conversion rate optimization.
Amy and Avery started Nubson Design – what is now Nufire – in 2006.
